David Simmons has been involved in the mortgage industry since 1984. During his first year in business, while working for a major nationwide mortgage banker, Dave was appointed the nationwide ‘rookie of the year' from among his peers from 48 states. During many subsequent years, he continued to distinguish himself as a member of the President's Clubs, and Chairman's Circles, of top producers with various mortgage banking and mortgage brokerage firms. He is a past director, Northern California Mortgage Bankers Association. He is a member of the California Association of Mortgage Brokers as well. He served not only in loan origination but learned aspects of loan servicing and underwriting, as well as escrow procedures, which enable him to have a full understanding of the market and factors affecting the customer.

Prior to the mortgage industry, Dave worked in both private business and city government, but always with the idea of “Service beyond Self” as an element of his caring personality. Dave rescued several historical items when working for the City of Berkeley and these items are contained now in the University of California Library, the Smithsonian Institute, and the City of Berkeley archives. In addition to his business work, Dave has volunteered for many years with charitable organizations and supports the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program, the Salvation Army, and the American Diabetes Association. Dave studied both at the University of California at Berkeley, as well as California State University and has a B.S. in Business Administration as well as studies in Architecture and Design.
